COREY MASON TOPS THE COMPETITION AND THE WEATHER AT RIVERSIDE

GROVETON, N.H.- Stark N.H.’ s Corey Mason put his Colebrook Repair Center, Mr. Pizza Chevrolet in victory lane Saturday night at Riverside Speedway and Adventure park in the Late Model division. Mason battled wheel to wheel for many laps with the #3 of Mike Kenison before wrestling the lead away on lap 23 and drove away from the rest of the field for his first victory of the season.Point leader Shawn Swallow picked his way through the field and brought the Swallow and Son’s Concrete machine in the second spot with Gilman, Vermont’s Jeff Marshall finishing in the third spot in his Knudson Salvage Chevrolet.    In the Scottie Fraziers 2ToGo Show, Flying Tigers Jason Kenison’s first race of the 2020 season was a memorable one as he picked up the win in the DK-N-Son’s Chevrolet. Rowdy Brad Bushey finished in the second spot again this week with last week’s winner Nick Gilcris in the Tallmadge Plumbing and Heating Buick finishing third.    In the EKeys For Cars Formula Fours, Groveton’s Chris Caron recovered from a flat tire in his heat race to pick up another main event win. Zack Audet put his #9 in to finish second, with MeKaylah Bowen picking up third.    The Lil Rascals Dwarf car feature started out rough for Brenna Humphrey as she spun the 21 on lap #3. Justin Stacey got the lead on the 5th lap and didn’t look back as he picked up another win. SWALLOW MAKES IT TWO IN A ROW AT RIVERSIDE SPEEDWAY & ADVENTURE PARK

Lancaster’s Shawn Swallow picked up win number two on the season Saturday night at Riverside Speedway in Groveton, NH. ACT competitor Ryan Kuhn had the lead until a caution on lap 44 reset the field and just before the restart Kuhn headed down pit road with a flat right front. He rejoined at the rear of the field and Swallow inherited the lead at that point and led the rest of the way to pick up the win in the Creative Counters Late Model 75 lap, 4th of July race at Riverside. Mike Kenison hung on to bring the DK-N-Sons Chevrolet in for second and Kuhn came back through the field to finish in the third spot.  In the G.O. Motorsports Nelcar Legends action, Luke Lebrun took the win with Reagan Parent in second and Shaun Buffington came back from an early spin to finish in the third spot.  Scottie Frazier’s 2 To Go show Flying Tigers put on a great show. After a devastating crash last saturday, Nic Gilcris turned things around and picked up a hard fought win to the delight of the crowd. Rowdy Brad Bushey ended up second and Jerrad Ledger bought the 47 Buick in for third.  In the Claudette and Deans Place DareDevil division, Revin Evan Gilbert got back on the winning streak as he led every lap to get the win. Rowdy Brad Bushey and Nic Gilcris never gave up, Gilcris waged a torrid battle for the win in the Scotty Fraziers 2 To Go Show Flying Tiger class Saturday night. Bushey led early on in the event until Gilcris got underneath the #52 to take the lead but Bushey came back on the low side and the race was on. Side by side they went swapping the lead back and forth until on lap 22 as the cars went down the back stretch, the #2 of Gilcris got sideways then took a hard right and with no time to correct.  The Elliot Masonry Buick of Gilcris drilled the turn three wall drivers side first. Rescue crews had to pull the car away from the wall so Nic could get out. Luckily Gilcris was okay and hopefully the car can be repaired. When racing resumed, Bushey took the win, with the #34 of Jacob Vaughn second, and Jerrad Ledger in the #47 finishing third.    The Claudette and Deans Place DareDevils put on a great show as the rookies and veterans ran together. Revin Evan Gilbert led early but on lap 15 last week’s winner Cassi Leonard got by Gilbert for the lead and with two laps to go Mekaylah Bowen got by as well for the second spot. SWALLOW COMES OUT ON TOP AT RIVERSIDE SPEEDWAY

Lancaster N.H. ‘s Shaun Swallow made his return to Riverside Speedway a memorable one as he picked up his first late model feature win of 2020. Swallow got his shot at the lead on a lap 34 restart and battled door to door  with Stark N.H.’s 2019 late model champion Corey Mason for 6 laps before Swallow pulled out to a 6 car length  lead that he held on to to the end.The best racing of the night was for second spot between Mason and Groveton’s Mike Kenison. These two battled side by side for over 30 laps with give and take between both drivers and Mason getting the second place finish with Mike Kenison in the Central Paving Chevrolet coming home in the third spot. Lil Rascals Dwarf car action saw Justin Stacey picking up the win with Cornish Maine’s Brenna Humphrey coming in the second spot and Hiram Maine’s Roger Edgecomb finishing in third. The Claudette and Deans Place veteran Dare Devils saw Lyndonville Vt’s Cassi Leonard getting her second main event win of the season with McKaylah Bowen putting the 12 machine in second and young Luke Shannon bringing the J.D. Plumbing Ford home for the third position.  Claudette and Deans place Rookies saw Windsor Hodgdon turn his luck around after last week’s hard ride into the front stretch wall coming away this week with his first career main event win. Jon Brill made the long tow from Turner, Maine worthwhile as he captured the 50 lap main event at Riverside Speedway & Adventure Park in Groveton N.H. Saturday night. The caution flew four times during the event. Brill got the lead at the 12 lap mark and survived three restarts to get the win. Shawn Knight also from Maine brought the #25 home in the 2nd spot while hometown driver Nic Gilcris crossed the finish line totally sideways in a whole gaggle of cars and after scoring was sorted out, Gilcris was awarded the 3rd place finish.    In Formula Four action, Groveton’s Chris Caron picked up his second win of the season, Claremont N.H.’s Erin Aiken came back from an early spin to finish second, and Ray King elected to start off the rear and brought the #15 all the way to a 3rd place finish.   The SMAC 350 Supermodifieds brought nine cars and a whole lot of speed to Riverside Speedway Saturday night. Cornish, ME’s Brenna Humphrey got the heat win, and in the thirty lap main event Bobby Chartier from Litchfield N.H. put the Chartier towing #29 in victory lane. Dave Helliwell picked up the second spot, and Les Keyser finished third in the #27.    The six and eight-cylinder Bone Stocks saw Mike Sherburne in the #83 Camaro got the win with Jason Ball finishing second, and Stephanie Welcome came home in the third spot.   Twenty-one four-cylinder Bone Stocks took to the track for their 20 lap main event, and Ryan Heuser got his second main event win of the season. BUSHEY CLAIMS FLYING TIGER MAIN EVENT AT RIVERSIDE SPEEDWAY & ADVENTURE PARK

Vergennes, Vermont’s Rowdy Brad Bushey picked up feature event # 1 of the 2020 racing season saturday night at Groveton N.H. riverside speedway. Bushey got out to the lead early and led all 30 laps of the main event. Groveton N.H.’s Nick Gilcris ran second in the Elliot Masonry Buick Regal while Jerrad Ledger came home third in the Brian’s auto body # 01.The Tiger division is sponsored by Scotty Frazier’s 2 To Go Show.   The Claudette and Dean’s Place Dare Devils had a good run. In main event #1 Lyndonville, Vermont’s Cassie Leonard picked up her first career feature victory as she got the lead early and held off Waterford, Maine’s Brady Heath in second and Morrisville, Vermont’s Mikayla Bowen finished third. In Dare Devils feature event #2 Gorham N.H.’s Evan Gilbert used the outside groove to his advantage and got to the front and never looked back, as he picked up his second main event win of the season. Oxford, ME’s Charlie Hall Jr. came home 2nd and Jefferson N.H. ‘s Danny Stinson finished in the 3rd spot.    In the Lil Rascals Dwarf class, Hiram ME’s. Justin Stacey wrestled the lead away from Roger Edgcomb and picked up his first main event win of the season.
